The event will take place on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 11:00 to 14:00 at the HAL:Gamification Lab, in the Central Library of the Ionian University (entrance from the rear of the Library building).

Dr. Ioannis Deliyannis
Participation: Department of Audio & Visual Arts, Ionian University, Corfu, Greece.
Background: Dr. Ioannis Deliyannis is a founding member of the Interactive Arts Laboratory. His work covers the development of interactive multimedia systems, including experimental television, multisensory games, and user-focused software products. His research focuses on gamification, augmented and virtual reality, and design of intelligent interactive systems.
Dr. Victor Lemos
Participation: University of Aveiro
Background: Dr. Victor Lemos is Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and Art at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, specializing in audiovisual storytelling production and multisystem development. With over 15 years of experience in creative industries, he has lived and worked in Portugal, Spain, and Brazil, developing projects and business opportunities with global channels and brands. He has produced films and series broadcast and licensed internationally by major networks such as BBC, TV Globo, Discovery Channel, and Netflix. His notable works include the Official FIFA World Cup 2014 Documentary and music videos with Anitta, Tropkillaz, Neymar, Ronaldo, and Anderson Silva, collectively amassing over 300 million views. Recently, Lemos directed the Brazilian series “CNN Série Originais – Vinhos de Portugal,” a CNN Brazil production, and wrote and produced the series “iMLOVE – O Hacker do Amor,” currently streaming on RTP Play.
Dr. Pavel Varatza
Participation: Institute of Informatics and Artificial Intelligence, Faculty of Applied Informatics, Tomas Bata University in Zlin, Czech Republic.
Background: Dr. Pavel Varatza has been Assistant Professor since 2006 at the Institute of Informatics and Artificial Intelligence, Faculty of Applied Informatics at Tomas Bata University in Zlin. He completed his PhD defending a dissertation on neural network optimization using evolutionary algorithms. He currently supervises laboratories in Geographic Information Systems and Advanced Programming. His interests include practical game development using Unreal, Godot, and Unity. He leads a scientific team of graduate and doctoral students working on serious games and learning through gaming.
Dr. Roman Jasek
Participation: Department of Informatics and Artificial Intelligence, Tomas Bata University in Zlin, Czech Republic.
Background: Prof. Roman Jasek, PhD, is Head of the Department of Informatics and Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Applied Informatics, Tomas Bata University in Zlin. He is currently responsible for Master’s and Doctoral programs in Informatics, specializing in Cybersecurity and Software Engineering. In collaboration with experts, he organizes regular expert meetings in cybersecurity titled “Process Management and Application of Modern Technologies.” For many years, Jasek served as Vice President of the European Security Union. He helped guide NATO military training experts from the V4 countries. He co-authored the international patent for “Identity and license verification system for working with highly sensitive data.” He has led many research projects in applied sciences and has received numerous awards. Over ten PhD students have graduated under his supervision.
