The AVARTS Live Game Hub is an initiative that aims to bring together new game designers and creators and showcase their ideas to the public. Organized by teachers of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts with coordination by Vasilis Komianos, Barbara Garneli, and Emmanouil Rovithis, it is staffed by students actively involved in game creation inside and outside the courses they attend.

This autumn’s event featured a series of games developed by the students of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts of Ionian University, including board games, digital games, and augmented reality games. Many projects focus on gamification to raise awareness and inform about health and environmental issues, in collaboration with the Ionian University Games Institute and the Anti-Cancer Society of Corfu.

Games presented this year:

  • Scroll of Sorrows: Alexandra Argyrou, Eleni Stamou, Maria Eleni Tsaousi
  • Sagrado: the Escape: Andreas Salvanos
  • Naval Warfare: Lost in Time: Kyriakos Georgakakos, Marios Sotiropoulos
  • Visconti, Conti e la Bomba: Drosoula Mastroyianni
  • Lightsaft: Kosmas Christou
