The AVARTS Live Game Hub is an initiative aimed at bringing together new game designers and creators to showcase their ideas to the public. Organized by faculty members of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts with coordination by Vasilis Komianos, Barbara Garneli, and Emmanouil Rovithis, and staffed by active game development students, it focuses on game design and process, connecting new designers with players eager to share and exchange ideas to make games more interesting and fun.
This year, the event features a range of games developed by students of the Department, including board games, digital games, and augmented reality games. Many of the projects emphasize gamification to raise awareness about health and environmental issues, in collaboration with the Ionian University Games Institute and the Anti-Cancer Society of Corfu.
The event will take place at the Gousis Building, former Psychiatric Hospital, Corfu on Thursday, May 15 and Friday, May 16 from 15:00 to 19:00, aiming to attract students, children, residents, and visitors of Corfu for enjoyable and informative experiences.

Interactive Augmented Reality psychological thriller set in Corfu in 1947. - Olympus Unbound by Barbara Garneli, Ioanna Mazi, Miltos Koustas, Drosoula Mastroyianni
Hybrid demo game combining AR and Metaverse virtual environment on a narrative of explorers on Mt. Olympus. - Board Games such as Green Tracli, Ca n’ cell, Race To Utopia: Judgement Day, Properly Dressed?, Stay balanced: The game of life, Another farm game, ReBiome, Oxid, Corpotoria each with unique themes from strategy to environmental and sci-fi elements.
