Within the collaboration between the Games Research Institute (IGR) and the Special Study Program for Certification of Pedagogical and Teaching Competence (PPETTIC) of the Department of Sound and Image Arts, a methodological approach was highlighted for teaching social concepts, linking art with artificial intelligence. In the course Philosophy of Education (winter semester 2024–2025), students were taught the method of training language models applied in the Laboratory, based on dialogic learning and the Socratic method. Through this approach, human and algorithmic thinking develop via questioning, challenging, and creative dialogue. This enhances critical thinking, metacognitive ability, and understanding of the potentials and limits of AI.
For their semester projects, students produced visual and conceptual narratives (images, videos, scripts for theatrical works), utilizing AI as a pedagogical tool. Qualitative analysis of the student work showed that AI can function as a collaborative co-creator, strengthening the learning process.
The results will be presented at two international conferences:
📍 “Education and professional development of educators for an innovative, progressive, and solidarity-driven Greece and Cyprus: The reform needed” (Drama, May 10), https://educircle.gr/icted2025/
