Successful Completion of AvSchool 2025 – Educational Segment of the 18th Audiovisual Arts Festival

AvSchool, the educational segment of the 18th Audiovisual Arts Festival, successfully concluded on Friday, May 16, 2025. The event was organized by the Department of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University, in collaboration with the ERHMEE Laboratory of the Department of Music Studies.

This year’s AvSchool took place from May 12 to May 16 in Corfu, hosted at the “Evi Laskari” hall of the Public Central Historical Library of Corfu. It brought together distinguished artists, researchers, and academics from Greece and abroad. The thematic focus was on “Intersections,” aiming to highlight the richness and diversity arising from the meeting of contemporary art with new technologies, especially in cinema, performance, artificial intelligence, and artistic research.

AvSchool 2025 recorded significant participation with 253 attendees across workshops, presentations, and lectures promoting collaboration, knowledge exchange, and experimentation.

The program included workshops and presentations on: Acting, Documentary filmmaking, AI tools for film creation, Interactive audiovisual storytelling, Film festival organization, Art and politics, Creative processes in filmmaking, Social and political dimensions of cultural institutions, Aesthetic algorithms in advertising, Nature and sound mimicry, Mixed reality narratives, Digital transformations, Postmodern Greek cinema, Gamification in lifelong learning, Environmental and digital arts, and AI applications in education and tourism.

The event was a fertile meeting space for diverse artistic practices, theoretical approaches, and technological tools, fostering creative expression and dialogue.
