The ERT3 show “Development Axes” presents the research work of the Department of Audio Visual Arts

The faculty and research staff of the Department of Audio Visual Arts present their multifaceted research work on the ERT3 show Development Axes.

The show will be broadcast on the ERT3 channel on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 12:30 and 18:30, and will remain permanently available on demand on ERTFLIX:

Associate Professor Ioannis Deligiannis presents research activities related to the development of adaptive audiovisual interactive content in fields including Computer Games, Adaptive Learning, New Media Art, and Interactive Multimedia, as well as the results so far of the projects “Digital Navigation Guide using Augmented Reality and Holograms” and “BRENDA-Digital Gastronomy Routes.”

Assistant Professor Michail Panagopoulos presents topics related to Mathematics and Art and the current results of the project “HAL (Hub of Arts Laboratory).”

Assistant Professor Vasilis Komianos presents research on Immersive Technologies (Virtual-Augmented-Mixed Reality), their applications in culture and the arts, and the ongoing results of projects such as “Virtual Exhibition Space of Corfu in the fields of Tourism-Culture-Environment,” “Immersive Adventure Game to Promote Local Creation, Art, and Tradition in Corfu,” and “Creation of a Virtual Reality Exhibition with selected museum material from the Philatelic and Postal Museum.”

Emmanouil Rovithis, research staff member, presents sound games in education and entertainment, the research effort of the Laboratory for Processing Audiovisual Signals (EP.OA.SH.) to make them accessible for visually impaired individuals, and the results of the project “Augmented Reality Sound Game ‘Audio Legends.'”

Barbara Garneli, research staff member, presents the creative process of game design and development and how content can be integrated to achieve specific goals.

Nikolaos Moustakas, postdoctoral researcher, presents research activities in Acoustically Augmented Reality and Creative Intelligence.

Polyxeni Kaïmara, postdoctoral researcher, presents her research on Multimedia and videogames in education, the potential positive effects of (video) games on learning disabilities or mental disorders.
